blurry, but still love it...

Can't resist

I have slacked, I will admit. New house, pregnancy and new baby... but there was a contest announced today on FB and I can't resist posting. I *LOVE* Curly Girl. If you don't know about her, here is her site... http://www.curlygirldesign.com/. So here is my spill... when decorating the nursery in preparation for Eve, I couldn't not add some Curly Girl love... note the background of this pic, and you will see the contribution. I used a wall plaque, removed the curled wire and added green ribbon to hang (the knob it's hanging on is from the old dresser I bought for her room. I added decorative knobs, but couldn't part with the blue ones- I knew they'd come in handy for something and voila! They did!) The frame is a card I made into a picture by mounting on scrapbook papers and placed into a plastic frame... the perfect addition. I'm all about taking someone's art and adding to it, to make my own unique pieces, but with Curly Girl, her stuff is so perfect it hardly needs embellishing!

She says hi....

Um, hi....

I can't believe it's been almost a years since I've posted anything. Life has been crazy, but isn't that true for all of us???
A few updates: We are in the house (from the previous post). Love most of home ownership- stress on the MOST.
Work has been very busy for us both, Bruce is still doing well in the car sales business.
All four cats are good :)
We are pregnant! Big news, I know... currently 21.5 weeks pregnant and it's a girl! Haven't pinned down a name yet.
I'll try to post a few pics from the past year in the next few days just for kicks and giggles.
So all in all, life is good....

Inspiration from.... Crafty Chica

Last week, we had a visit from the "Crafty Chica" at work. You can check her out here.... http://www.craftychica.com/welcome.html. Her stuff is really neat and she is really sweet and amazingly down to earth. It's obvious she has found her bliss which gives us all hope! Her husband is her partner in the business and he's really cool too! There is a point here though: Kathy, aka Crafty Chica, gave me quiet the inspiration with this particular piece of art. As many of you know, I have lupus. The "sign" for lupus is a butterfly. So this quote, "Be a butterfly warrior", really struck me! I AM A BUTTERFLY WARRIOR! Along with all my fellow lupus patients out there, along with my friends and family who support me with this disease as well as my great doctors. So rock on Butterfly Warriors, chin up and remember every "bad" day is surrounded by many good ones... as well as lots of love and support. FYI- the DFW Walk For Lupus NOW 2009 is April 25th- save the date!
(In case you are wondering- Crafty Chica products are available through her site, but they are also carried at select Michaels stores)
